The XVIII SIMS conference is passed over.
It was a great pleasure to host you in Riva, and organize this event was a wonderful experience for us. We would like to thank everybody for the warm and active participation.
We suggest to consult the site also in the future. We will continue to keep it updated and soon we will upload some pictures taken at the conference.

We are pleased to announce the 18th International Conference on Secondary Ion Mass Spectrometry – SIMS XVIII, to be held in the beautiful location of Riva del Garda (Trento, Italy) from 18th to 23rd September 2011. The conference will be hosted by the Riva del Garda Fierecongressi conference centre, nicely located at the Garda Lake’s shores.
The conference will provide a forum for colleagues from both academia and industries throughout the World to exchange results and new ideas on Secondary Ion Mass Spectrometry and related techniques. The conference will cover advancements of scientific knowledge from fundamentals to applications. Discussion on present possibilities and future developments of the technique, in view of the future requirements coming from technology and basic research, will be particularly solicited also with dedicated discussion sessions.
Contributions are invited, but not limited to, the following topics:
Ultra High Spatial Resolution SIMS
Life Science, Biological analysis and Biotechnology
Polymers and molecular surfaces/films
Geology, Geo- and Cosmochemistry
Complementary techniques and multi-technique approaches (LEIS, MEIS, GD-MS, APT, ...)
Atmospheric pressure particle bombardment (DESI, DICE, …)
SIMS XVIII is jointly organized by the SIMS Italian Workgroup, formed by 13 academic, research and industrial Italian institutions, and by the Fondazione Bruno Kessler (Trento, Italy).
